This is a wonderful look into a country and way of life that we in the west rarely get to see. Nafisi tells the story of how she connected with a group of young women over Western novels, such as Lolita and Pride and Prejudice, during the 1980s in Iran, a time and place not known for openness.
ReplyDeleteA book that will appeal to avid readers, people interested in learning about other cultures, and the role of women in the Middle East.
