I enjoyed the way the story was told from Marvin's (the beetle) point of view. The inclusion of Albrecht Durer's drawings was an interesting twist that may help interest readers in his and other artwork. I was disappointed that Mrs. Pompaday was so oblivious to her son, and fell into that "bad parent" stereotype so prevalent in children's literature.
